Day 2 - San Francisco

Hey Everyone!

Okay, since i was not able to write to posts yesterday, i will try to do it today!
Our second day here in San Francisco was simply amazing!
So, we were going to meet the others in the morning around 09:30, so we could sleep in. Some of the others and I were awake many times, because of the Jet Lack. But we came down and had breakfast with the others, and there was plenty to choose from: Nutella, marmalade, oatmeal, fruit and so on, so nobody went hungry from the table. It was a real American breakfast, accept there was no pancakes and scramble eggs, which I was thankful for!
At 10:30 there was a guy called Macmood who gave a lecture about San Francisco´s past and present, and how he personally find the city and America. It was very interesting to hear his story, since he is from Egypt, and he had a son born in Denmark, so he knew a lot about Europe, and he told us about the schools he was working at. After his lecture, who lasted around 1,5 hour, we went outside, to go to union square. The weather is so nice here! Most of us had brought cardigans, leather jackets and even coats, because we thought it would chilly, but it is like the dansih summer! Truly great weather, we are all so pleased about it.
At Union Square we were going to drive with the Magic Bus. But first we split up, so we could buy some lunch or check a few stores out. Sofie and I went to the Westfield Centre, which is a mall, and just looked around, and after that we grabbed a Subway sandwich, and it was my first Subway meal ever! Yum.
Then we headed back to Union Square, to find the Magic Bus. It was a huge colorful bus, with a girl named “Tree Flower” and she was dressed as a hippie, blowing soap bobles outside the busses windows. It was truly and amazing experience! It took us to: Haight Asbury, China town, Low Asbury, Golden Gate Park, Industrial street, Market street, The Beatnecks area and maybe more places!
“Tree Flower” called it a “time travel” because it took us back to experience the Hippies and the Beatnecks, and how it was to live back then. And the bus played all sorts of music from the 60´s, and I loved it so much! We got flowers in our hair, flyers, candy and 3D glasses, because some of the paint on the bus was in 3D, so cool!
After the magic bus, we could do whatever we wanted to, so Sofie and I went back to the Mall, and shopped. After that, we looked at some street shops, and then Sofie wanted to take a rest, so we went back to Adelaide Hostel for 1,5 hour. Then we met to see if we could eat all of us together, at the Cheese Cake Factory, but all the tables were full and the line was SO long. So we split up again, and some of us decided to go to a steak house to eat. We could first get a table at 20:30, so we went out shopping some more. I was with Anna and Emilie, who did not wanted to eat at the steak house, so 10 min. before I was supposed to be there, I hurried from the store Forever 21, all the way to the steak house (which is some way). Luckily Linda went outside to check if I had arrived, because nobody was there when I came!
Then we went inside the steakhouse, where we waited 30 min. to get the table. Then we ordered, waited around 50 min. on our food, then waited 30 min. before we could pay, and then 15 min. before we could get an receipt! But that is not all! I had to pay 32 dollars (179 kr.) for a pork chop, 8 dollars (45 kr,) for French fries – I shared with Camilla, and then another 13 dollars (73 kr.) EACH for taxes and service! HOW EXPENCIVE WAS THAT!
So we got home very late that evening, and I was exhausted, so I felt a sleep very quickly. But all in all it was a lovely day, with many great experiences!
